DSTV Mobile is the mobile television division of MultiChoice South Africa providing mobile TV content and services for a number of mobile platforms and technologies. DSTV Mobile is working to integrate a range of valuable products and services into the mobile TV environment using both broadcast and streaming technologies.
In 2008, DSTV Mobile launched broadcast mobile TV services in Namibia, Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. In South Africa, the streaming service to mobile devices was launched in 2010 yielding an increased demand for technical support to end users wanting to take advantage of the DSTV services. Mobile television is accessible via 3G streaming (3G) and Digital Video Broadcast Handheld Technology (DVB-H).
The Speedperform Mobile SupportWare solution went live for DSTV Mobile in April 2012 with implementations in five African countries covering support for use of their services across 16 Mobile operators. The scope of the solution covers the full range of the Mobile SupportWare content modules from Virtual Device and how-to videos allowing the user to get a first-hand feeling for the DSTV Mobile services, to Interactive Guides and troubleshooting providing call center agents and end users with accurate support information to efficiently accommodate any technical support inquiry.
